A very unique community in the state of Guanajuato that is comprised of one large extended family. Mama Luz is the 90-year-old matriarch of El Sauz and the families of her incredible 11 children, 38 grandchildren, and 65 great grandchildren work the land and maintain the community. The men are seldom around and can spend weeks, months, or even years away as migrant workers sending small surpluses back home.
